Little Aussie Battlers.
February 10th, 2009
Today I was so upset about my home that I had to get up and leave from work, take a walk and cry outside. The worst thing was I had nobody to call.. nobody here who really understands.
I guess, writing about this and getting some of my feelings out is really helpful for me especially being so far from Australia at this time.
Here are some of the very few native animals that survived the bush fires… unfortunately tens of thousands did not make it.
Seeing these photos makes me happy that those pictured are okay and survived.
I am calling them The Little Aussie Battlers.
You can donate money and food (if you are in Australia) here - RSPCA
Also, if you are in Australia please consider taking in one of the many domestic animals that survived and are now homeless. There are so many stories of dogs waiting by their burnt houses waiting for their owners to get home, and for a lot of them this is just not going to happen.

A burnt, but safe little hungry guy.

Sugar glider and baby roo make friends.

Beautiful koala bear with his hands and feet bandaged.

Koala bear looking at his burnt house.

Dehydrated Koala Bear shaking hands, and drinking some water.

Sam getting his burnt feet and hands bandaged.

These photos have been taken from a variety of sources that I found on the web.
