Mohawk and I go to Babycakes.

I turned vegan 6 weeks ago and was on a mission to become the best vegan cupcaker this side of New York City. I bought this really cool book “Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World”. I carried the book around with me for 2 weeks reading it with glee trying to decide which flavour I was going to make first. I finally decided on a lime coconut vibe and then went and spent a lot of cash mate on ingredients and equipment to make my first batch. I guess I am not the best cook or maybe it was because the recipe required over a cup of oil and over a cup of sugar, either way the cupcakes didn’t work and I lost my passion to be the best cupcaker this side of New York City.

Instead, Mohawk Anne Dimebag and I decided to walk over to Babycakes, the famed Vegan bakery, in the Lower East Side last week to eat some of their cupcakes. I have to be honest I was a little disappointed that they only offer 4 different flavoured cupcakes - vanilla, carrot, red velvet and chocolate. But they were yummy, and it is extra special to know that as a vegan I can enjoy such fabulous little things as these.

Mohawk liked her cupcake, she even ate the paper wrapper… yes she loved her vegan cupcake that much!!!
