Lost America!!
April 3rd, 2008
Troy Paiva is one of those Urban Explorers who just has it.
A photographer who is probably considered a bit of a weirdo as he spends a lot of his time traveling around the country side taking pictures (in and around abandoned towns, ship yards, highways and junk yards) of random things that are desolate, lonely and unassuming. **And to boot he shoots most of his art during the dark hours. No sunlight allowed.
He has perfected the art of taking photos in darkness with a combination of hand held lights, flash lights, gelled lights, strobe lights, and the full moon light.
He has been stranded in the middle of the ravished simmering desert of nowhere.
He has taken photos at a location of rumored widespread radioactive contamination.
He has been shot at by Cranky land owners who do not like trespassers.
He has captured images in the Murder capital of America West Oakland: AND LIVED.
What a Clever Little Muffin!!!
A true artist you can buy his work here of what he calls “the spectacular vastness of the American southwest” - LOST AMERICA
