“No Pants” Subway Ride NYC - yes this is a real event!!
January 13th, 2008

In New York City this weekend the 7th Annual NO PANTS subway ride was held again - surely this has to be one of the strangest events I have ever come across in NYC. And that is saying something!!
The only requirements to participate in this weird event were that you were willing to take your pants off, that you could keep a straight face and act as it was absolutely fine that you were not wearing pantballs, oh yeah and you could not acknowledge other participants who were also not wearing pants.
The subway ride started at the Brooklyn Bridge Stop on the 6 train and went uptown all the way to the 125th Street Stop, then back downtown on the same line. Participants also made random stops along the way at subway stations, you know just hung out on the platform for awhile acting totally nonchalant and then continued on their NO PANTS journey.
Over 160+ people joined the madness and mayhem this year…. another note here is that in New York City we are well into winter: you know snow, wind and rain kind of winterballs!! Not exactly the weather to be out and about with no pants on.
Strangely enough, a lot of people do not know about this event even though it has been in effect for 7 years now, maybe because the trains are not as busy on the weekends??
I have never heard of any of the participants being arrested for Indecent Exposure but I have heard of participants being arrested for Disorderly Conduct. It is not illegal to be in public in NYC in your underwear. In fact, it’s legal for both men and women to be topless.
Here is a youtube link that I found from last year’s event for your viewing pleasureballs.

Next is the “toptional” subway ride.
